Isabella and Peter chose to get married in Italy, on June 22nd, 2019, at the NH Collection Grand Hotel Convento in Amalfi Coast.
The wedding preparations
Peter and Isabella are a couple who lives in London. I had the pleasure of visiting them with my family before their destination wedding in Italy. In fact, a good friendship was established immediately with these spouses as well as a good working relationship.
During the preparations for the big day, with Isabella, whose mother is Neapolitan, we exchanged many whatsapp messages: every doubt, every question, every hesitation was dealt with almost in real time.
Whatsapp was a means that allowed us to communicate very quickly. Above all very nice was writing to each other in Italian so that the bride managed to refresh her memories of our beautiful language.
Pre wedding
This couple pampered her guests who came from far away for two days. The day before the wedding, in fact, we arranged a private pre wedding party, at the Blu Sirena in Amalfi, where the guests met after arriving on the Amalfi Coast.
The bride and groom to be, their families and friends, spent the evening in one of the coolest clubs in Amalfi, drinking spritz, cocktails, beers and eating many tastes of good Italian food, characteristic of the area, with a private DJ who mixed music in the background.
The wedding day
On the wedding day, the real fairy tale of Peter and Isabella began, set in a location that every time gives my spouses and their guests a unique experience of its kind: the Convent of Amalfi. To be honest, it is not difficult to create in such a location an event that leaves everyone breathless.
The symbolic ceremony
The symbolic ceremony, set in the cloister of the NH Collection Grand Hotel Convento in Amalfi, was sober and elegant, with pastel colors.
We installed two giant amphorae on two stone-colored columns that recalled the columns and arches of the cloister, decorated with climbing ivy compositions. Small flowers bouquets laid on the outer side of the white chiavarine chairs, while a beautiful ivory-colored carpet marked the bride's path.
The ceremony was very intimate and exciting, the climax was reached when a soprano intoned Schubert's Ave Maria during the bride's entrance.
The wedding reception
Along the monks' walkway, lanterns of various sizes show the guests the path to follow to get to the restaurant. The tableau mariage then helps each guest understand where to sit.
In the dining room there is a marvelous imperial table decorated paying attention to the smallest details: white tablecloth and napkins, gold-profiled glass underplates, five arm candelabra one meter high, gold-colored candles and jars, placeholder accessories and dividers between the various sections of the very long table. All the details were designed and painted in watercolor by the English calligrapher artist Rebecca Bright.
During the reception dinner each speech is followed by a toast with a shot of limoncello and at the end of the banquet a small bottle of limoncello as a favor for all the guests.
The wedding cake
After dinner, during the cutting of the wedding cake - spatulated white and decorated with olive leaves and large white flowers - spectacular fireworks from the sea lit up the sky and were the perfect backdrop for a long tender kiss of the spouses.
The first dance
After the fireworks the newlyweds and their guests moved to the solarium area of the NH Hotel Gran Convento d'Amalfi and under a roof of fairy lights Peter and Isabella gave a demonstration of a seductive and romantic first dance, surrounded by their loved ones that framed the moment with suggestive sparklers. The dance party continued for everyone until midnight.
Testimonial
Wedding in Amalfi June 2019
Thank you so much Ines for helping us to organise our very special wedding in Amalfi!
Ines was not only our wedding planner, but became a friend of ours. We got on straight away - she is friendly, approachable and hospitable - which was so lovely as my husband and I are from London. Above all she is very organised, which meant that we could really trust her with planning our wedding.
Ines always made herself available to answer any questions or concerns we had. Her knowledge of local suppliers meant that we were able to source everything we needed. She was great at thinking of all the little details and touches to make the day unique. She was fantastic up until the wedding day itself - which she ensured ran smoothly.
We were very happy to have Ines as our wedding planner and would recommend her to anyone planning a wedding on the Amalfi Coast!
